Rev. Mehl vicared at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Calgary, Alberta in 1984-85. He served as the pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran and St. John’s Lutheran Parish in Rural Milbank and Revillo, South Dakota from 1986 to 1994. In 1995 he accepted the call to be the pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Batesville, Arkansas. While in Batesville, a Lutheran grade school was begun in 1997 and Pastor Mehl also served as the principal of Hope Lutheran School till 2004. In 2004 he was called to be the Executive Director of Saint Paul Lutheran High School in Concordia, MO.
Rev. Mehl is married to Lucinda (nee Bingenheimer) and they have 4 grown children and one grandchild.

Mrs. Marsh taught for one year at Cannon Valley Lutheran High School in Morristown, MN before accepting a call to teach at Saint Paul in 2007. In addition to teaching Math, Mrs. Marsh serves as guidance counselor, assisting students as they make class schedules and college plans. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Marsh serves as Principal and also Softball Coach. Mrs. Marsh is married to SPLHS volleyball coach, Aaron Marsh. Mr. and Mrs. Marsh have a 5 year-old son and a 3 year-old daughter.

Mr. Beerman was born and raised in Concordia, Missouri. He attended Concordia High School and after graduating from Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska accepted his first call to St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Columbus, Indiana serving there from 1971-1977. He taught two years from 1977-1979 at Concordia High School in Concordia, Missouri before spending 1979-1994 self employed in agriculture. In 1994 he began his ministry at Saint Paul Lutheran High School. He and his wife Jan have four grown children and six grandchildren. He enjoys being outdoors, being with family, reading and watching sports.

Mrs. Wienberg has been teaching at Saint Paul since 1986. In addition to teaching practical arts classes, Mrs. Wienberg serves as Director of Opertions. Mrs. Wienberg is married to Norman Wienberg. Mr. and Mrs. Wienberg have three adult married children.

Pastor Mueller served congregations as a parish Pastor in southwest Minnesota before being called as to Saint Paul in 2014. A past member of the Board of Trustees at Saint Paul, he is also a 1978 graduate of the high school. He and his wife Jana have 4 children.

Mr. Bobzin grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Concordia Lutheran High School and Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska. He taught in Illinois, New York, and California before coming to SPLHS in 1991. In addition to teaching in Lutheran elementary and high schools, he has serves the church at-large on the district and synodical levels. He enjoys reading, gardening, classic cars, and Canadian fishing trips.

Mrs. Brandt had the opportunity to student teach at Saint Paul Lutheran High School before being called in 2003, which was her first call. In addition to teaching English and speech courses, Mrs. Brandt directs two theatre performances a year and serves as this year’s Senior Class sponsor. Mrs. Brandt is married to food service director, Mr. Mark Brandt. Mr. and Mrs. Brandt have a 5 year-old son and a 2 year-old daughter.

After more than a quarter century as a parish pastor Dr. Deterding began his service to SPLHS in 2012. He is a contributor to The Apocrypha: Lutheran Edition with Notes (forthcoming), edited the Concordia Popular Commentary volumes on Revelation (2009) and 1 Corinthians (2010), and served as a consultant, an author, and an associate editor for The Lutheran Study Bible (2009). His publications include the Bible studies Daniel: Encouragement for Faith (1996) and Haggai/Zechariah/Malachi: Return to the Lord (2005) and the Concordia Commentary volume Colossians (2003). He and his wife, Donna, are the parents of three adult sons: Stephen, Andrew, and Jason.

Mr. Gramenz grew up in Steeleville, Illinois and attended Christ Our Savior Lutheran High School. He played baseball at Concordia Seward before graduating and taking a teaching/dorm position at Saint Paul in 2011. Along with his responsibilities of teaching Social Studies courses and coaching, Mr. Gramenz is a sophomore class sponsor. He enjoys watching sports especially the St. Louis Cardinals and traveling.

Mrs. Ivie taught for two years at St. John’s Lutheran School in Racine, Wisconsin, before accepting a call to Saint Paul in 2011. She teaches a variety of classes in the math, technology and physical education departments, as well as coaching volleyball and track. Mrs. Ivie is married with two dogs. She enjoys being active, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals, and spending time with her friends and family.

Mr. Jostes was born in Seward, NE and grew up there as well as in Norfolk, NE. He attended Lutheran High Northeast in Norfolk, NE and after graduating entered the Navy Reserves. He later attended and graduated from Concordia University-Nebraska. Mr. Jostes accepted his first call to Saint Paul Lutheran High School. He is in his 2nd year of ministry at Saint Paul. He enjoys camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and watching football games. Mr. Jostes is married to St. Paul’s Lutheran School 3 year old teacher, Jordan.

Pastor Lange served congregations in Lafayette, Indiana and Farmington Hills, MI as a parish pastor for almost 16 years before beginning his teaching career. He taught upper grade religion classes at Lutheran High School Westland in the Detroit Metro area for four years, coaching the varsity volleyball team for two of them. His wife, Beth, is a Mary Kay Sales Director. They have three children: Allie, a sophomore at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, Jonah, a junior at Saint Paul, and Brooke, a freshman, also at Saint Paul.

Mr. Laubenstien is in his 46th year of ministry at Saint Paul. He enjoys reading, crossword puzzles, watching sports on TV, and hanging out at the mall.

Dr. Marsh taught group and private piano courses at UT-Austin while pursuing her doctorate in Texas. In 1998 she moved to Frankfurt, Germany, where she spent the next 17 years working as a professional musician, performing as a solo pianist, conductor and collaborative artist throughout Europe, as well as working as a church music director. She received a call in August 2014 to work at SPLHS in the fall of 2015. She enjoys writing, reading, sewing and cooking, and is passionate about music and missions. She has a daughter (19) who attends CUNE and a son (15) at Saint Paul.

Mrs. Nelson grew up in Emma, Missouri, and is an alumna of Saint Paul. Upon graduating from Northwest Missouri State University, she taught for three years at Sainte Genevieve High School. Mrs. Nelson earned her Master’s degree and began teaching at Saint Paul in 2010. She also serves as the NHS and Student Government sponsor. Mrs. Nelson is married to Steve Nelson and they have a two-year-old daughter.

In addition to teaching Physical Education, Mr. Pitsch serves as Athletic Director, Class Sponsor, In-service Committee member and Head Coach for boys basketball. Mr. Pitsch is married to Marta and has 3 girls. Madison is an SPLHS 2015 graduate, Malaina is a freshman at Saint Paul, and Maggie attend St. Paul’s Lutheran elementary school in Concordia.

Mrs. Schmidt began teaching high school English at Field Kindley Memorial High School in Coffeyville, Kansas (1989-1991). She taught more English and coached at Ballard High School in Huxley, Iowa, from1991-1993. From 1994-2001 she taught even more English at Southside High School in Batesville, Arkansas. Mrs. Schmidt then served as upper grades instructor at Hope Lutheran School in Batesville, Arkansas, from 2001-2005. While there, she had to tone down the English and teach other stuff. In 2005, she accepted a call to get back to teaching high school English at Saint Paul Lutheran High School. She currently teaches English I, Composition, Dual Credit Experiences in Writing, and coaches cheerleading. Mrs. Schmidt is married to SPLHS’s famous chemistry instructor and soccer coach, Dr. Luther Schmidt. They have two sons, Samuel (SPLHS class of 2013) and Simon (SPLHS class of 2015).

Dr. Schmidt was previously employed as a practicing chemist for 12 years by the Kodak Company and subsequently Eastman Chemical Company. Dr. Schmidt came to Saint Paul, along with his wife, English teacher Andrea Schmidt, in 2005. He currently teaches both high school and college Physics, high school and college Chemistry, and Forensic Science. In his spare time Dr. Schmidt enjoys exercising, Science Fiction, and crossword puzzles.

He is married to Morgan, who is studying Physical Therapy at Rockhurst University in Kansas City. He enjoys running, biking, and spending time with his wife and cat.
